DELIVERING SAFER ROADS FOR MELTON

A re-elected Andrews Labor Government is taking the first step towards upgrading the Western Highway between Melton and Caroline Springs.

We will invest $10 million in delivering the business case to upgrade this important stretch of road, alongside the Federal Government.

Victorians in our suburbs know how important it is to have safe and reliable roads. That’s why we’ve invested $35 billion since 2014 to expand our road network and deliver important improvements, making our roads safer for every Victorian.

Better yet – these investments have created thousands of Victorian jobs.

Since coming to government, we’ve invested $14.9 million in duplicating a section of Melton Highway in Plumpton, reducing traffic and improving safety. But there’s still more to do, which is why we’ll continue delivering the local road upgrades our community needs.

When it comes to creating jobs and building much-needed infrastructure, the Liberals can’t be trusted. They’ve already promised to “audit” much-needed local investments – Liberal code for cuts and closures.

Only Labor will keep building to get Victorians home sooner and safer – because only Labor will do what matters.

Quotes attributable to Minister for Transport Infrastructure Jacinta Allan

Quotes attributable to Labor Member for Melton Steve McGhie

“The Western Highway is a critical road link – an important route helping commuters get to where they need to go safely.”

Quotes attributable to Labor Candidate for Kororoit Luba Grigorovitch

We’re getting on with addressing the critical need for tens of thousands of daily commuters, including those getting to and from work and those moving goods across the state.”
